SustainabiLILY: geothermal energy

At Qualily, we continue to take steps towards sustainability. Starting in November, our location in Maasdijk (Qualily DH) will be connected to the geothermal project ‘Aardwarmte Maasdijk’. Recently, the first preparations have been completed, and the heat exchanger has been installed.

Geothermal energy is a smart way to heat greenhouses without relying on natural gas. Hot water is pumped from a depth of 2 to 3 kilometers and used through a heat exchanger to supply a local heating network. This allows us to grow our lilies in a sustainable way, while contributing to a greener future for the greenhouse sector in Westland.

We are proud of this new milestone and will continue to invest in #sustainabiLILY!
